At Aspen Medical Care, we are well-trained in sexual and reproductive wellness and can review your questions surrounding contraception and sexually transmitted disease screening.  Our doctors and physician assistants recognize that people have different goals surrounding reproductive health based on their age and sexual preferences.  We can review your contraceptive options and provide recommendations based on your preferences and experiences. No two people are the same! From proper use of barrier methods, to oral contraceptive pills (‘birth control pills’) to long-acting reversible contraception, we’ll help you find the option that fits your life. Not only that, we can place several different long term contraceptives in the office. Dr. Connery and physician assistant Shari Kiehnbaum can place intrauterine devices (hormonal and non-hormonal), and Shari places hormonal arm implants.

Aspen Medical Care does not just concern itself with birth control! With aging, menopause can present with various symptoms.  We are here to help you gain a better understanding of the normal aging process. We can discuss the risks and benefits of hormone replacement during the peri and post-menopausal years as well as non-hormonal options that are safe and effective.

Our expertise does not stop with birth control and menopause. We are happy to discuss personal concerns surrounding sexual functioning for all of our patients.Our adult providers offer guidance, medication, and referral to an expert consultant as needed to promote your sexual well-being.

Dr. Connery, Dr. Gieszl, Shari Kiehnbaum, PA, Tracie Waltershied, PA and Jade Golden, PA do not wait for problems to present themselves. At your annual wellness exam, we provide age and risk-based cervical, breast and prostate cancer screenings.  We also offer early reproductive care and referral to obstetrics and gynecology as needed for patients who may need more specialized care.  We look forward to discussing these more sensitive areas of your wellness.
